Café de stiji

Sitting in the school café,

I look at the grass groaning under the scorching August sun and think about the times I spent in Jeju.

Throughout the day, cloudy or rainy Jeju would show occasional summer sunshine with needles stabbing in my back while walking.

But I liked it. Jeju was a good land when it was sunny, cloudy, and even rainy.

One of the most impressive memories of that time was the Cafe de Steele in Jeju.

There are things that disappear from my head when I sit in the cafe, which embraces Mondrian's paintings, who believed that emotions were on curves and loved only straight lines.

My hand holding a book I brought to read during summer vacation becomes loose, my desire to absorb new things disappears, and I don't have any thoughts left.

On the recommendation of a broadcast journalist, I found a cafe named after Dutch for 'The Style.'

I recommended that you go to Jeju, but what attracted me more than the cafe itself was the island right in front.

Sitting by the window of the cafe with a huge whale tattoo all over the building,

looking at the island, I see me enter the island myself.

I didn't wonder what the island was named, when it came about, or who named it;

I just wanted to know how long the passage of time around it lasted and why it came to such a deep calm.

It was my first experience.

 I wanted to draw invisible times rather than visible island, and to capture the footsteps of island that change with time and flow rather than the island itself.

I felt this at the cafe.
Picture is love...
